Over 75% of shoppers believe food-related illness is a serious threat to their health. Many believe the threat is greater today than in the past.
In a recent survey by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), shoppers saying they were mostly or completely confident in the food safety provided by the industry dropped 16 percentage points from 2006 to 2007.
Consumers believe it is “very important” to educate the public on safe food handling practices. The Partnership created this creative educational platform with input from consumers and food companies. Retailers and Suppliers can use it with confidence!
Retailers that are members of FMI have an opportunity to license the Be Food Safe platform for use in internal and external communications programming. Retailers can license this colorful consumer tested platform for no fee.
As a licensee you will receive access to all of the platform graphics in color and in b&w and a number of templates that allow you to bring the colorful food safety messages direct to your customers (shelf wobblers, fliers, circular ads).
Retailers and other private companies that are not members of FMI can also participate through the Partnership’s Friends of Food Safety Education corporate program.
